ART

Different from my illustration work which is often more commercial, the artwork below tends to focus on portraiture, life, landscape, form, fashion, figure, and nature. These are objective studies of the natural world around me, with only slight concessions to a theme or into abstraction. I find that starting from a naturalistic perspective, then pushing the color or shape language slightly beyond the natural world, allows me as an artist to explore a wider array of subject matter. Most of the art below was done digitally. I use my Wacom tablet when working in Photoshop, and the Procreate app when working on my iPad.

Hershey (digital painting)
I painted this digital portrait of my dog, Hershey, before I ever owned my own Wacom tablet or an iPad with Procreate. I used only my fingers on the MacBook touchpad. It was a painstaking process, though I’m very pleased with the result.
